Nothing here is complicated, but knowing it beforehand makes the appointment smoother for your pet, which is the whole point.
Tell her these four things when you book

What kind of animal, and what breed
A Holland Lop, an angora cross, a doodle, a long-haired cat. It changes how long the appointment needs to be.

Anything health-related
Medication, arthritis, sore spots, recent surgery, a bad experience at another groomer. None of it is disqualifying; all of it changes how she works.

How your pet likes to be handled
Some animals are fine being picked up, some are not. Telling her upfront saves your pet the stress of her finding out the hard way.

What you want it to look like
Send a photo if you have one in mind. “Shorter” means five different things to five different people.
What happens on the day
Settling in
Most animals are anxious for the first ten minutes or so and then realise nothing bad is happening. That settling time is part of the appointment, not a delay.
The price, before anything starts
She looks at the coat, tells you what the groom will cost, and only then begins. If the matting turns out to be worse than it looked, she calls you before changing anything.
Stopping early is allowed
If your pet has genuinely had enough, the session ends there. Half a groom done well beats a finished one they will dread next time.
Photos and pickup
You get a message when they are ready, usually with a before and after. Then you collect a very smug-looking animal.
A word about matting
If your pet is badly matted, you are not in trouble. It happens, to busy people, to rescues, to animals who stopped tolerating brushing. Taylor has seen it before and will tell you honestly what the kindest option is, even when that means taking the coat shorter than you wanted.
